CastlePointe exists as it does today because we were trying to answer a simple question:
Through years of working with clients we had seen this happen too many times. We realized that the reason was that the focus was typically in all the wrong places. While there was significant focus on technology, process and structures, there was very little focus on the two things that really made the biggest difference: building organizational capabilities and developing the people that would deliver them.
| CREATING ORGANIZATIONAL AGILITY: How to Make SOA, Agile & Change Management Work Together to Speed Service Delivery 09/15/2010 - 09:15am PST The Free Lunch Webinar Series , CastlePointe Presentation Part of the "Free Lunch" IT Transformation Webinar SeriesBusiness is moving faster and faster every day - and demanding that IT move with it. As a result IT organizations are moving toward new development methodologies, approaches and tools such as SOA and Agile to reduce time to delivery of critical business apps. But as these same organizations adopt IT Service Management principles, an apparent conflict arises pitting SOA and Agile against Change and Release Management. |
So we stepped out of our framework-adorned towers and explored and tested new approaches to driving change within IT organizations. What we created is a structured execution methodology, which we call DeepRoots™, that leads an organization through a transformation process that is focused on changing organizational behaviors in pursuit of very specific business objectives. Through this process, we embed new business-driven capabilities and behaviors into the culture to ensure that they will deliver results that matter: improved efficiency, superior performance and the evolution of IT to higher levels of business relevance.
Along the way, we realized that there were a lot of people who seemed to be doing process improvement just because it was the “in” thing to do. Or calling almost anything an “IT Transformation” initiative. But true transformation is too important to be trivialized. So, we created a vision to help clarify that IT transformation is about three things: Cultural Change, Organizational Effectiveness and Business Value.
We are entering a challenging and precarious era for IT organizations. You are under constant assault from external competitors and shifting attitudes and expectations within the business. Yet you are often constrained by the technical complexity and management structures that have grown layer upon layer through years of exponential growth. Your business customers demand that you operate a highly efficient organization that performs consistently. And they expect you to evolve to meet their changing needs.
