CastlePointe exists as it does today because we were trying to answer a simple question:

Why do so many IT process improvement and transformation efforts fail to create lasting change in an organization?

Through years of working with clients we had seen this happen too many times. We realized that the reason was that the focus was typically in all the wrong places. While there was significant focus on technology, process and structures, there was very little focus on the two things that really made the biggest difference: building organizational capabilities and developing the people that would deliver them.

But as these same organizations adopt IT Service Management principles, an apparent conflict arises pitting SOA and Agile against Change and Release Management.

We knew that there was a better way.

So we stepped out of our framework-adorned towers and explored and tested new approaches to driving change within IT organizations. What we created is a structured execution methodology, which we call DeepRoots™, that leads an organization through a transformation process that is focused on changing organizational behaviors in pursuit of very specific business objectives. Through this process, we embed new business-driven capabilities and behaviors into the culture to ensure that they will deliver results that matter: improved efficiency, superior performance and the evolution of IT to higher levels of business relevance.

Along the way, we realized that there were a lot of people who seemed to be doing process improvement just because it was the “in” thing to do. Or calling almost anything an “IT Transformation” initiative. But true transformation is too important to be trivialized. So, we created a vision to help clarify that IT transformation is about three things: Cultural Change, Organizational Effectiveness and Business Value.
